The Habitat Store mission is to: Provide significant, long-term financial support to Habitat for Humanity-Spokane through the sale of new and used building material to the public. The Store needs volunteers for the following roles: sales associates, warehouse assistants, receptionists, and appliance testers. Don't have any training or experience? Not a problem! We'll show you the ropes during your volunteer experience! All Volunteers Must be 16 years of age or older. A background check is run on all volunteers. If you are completing community service please call 509-534-2552 to schedule. In addition to raising funds for Habitat-Spokane's mission, the Habitat Store provides an environmentally- and socially-responsible way to keep good, reusable materials out of landfills. Since its inception in 2000, The Habitat Store has raised enough money to build forty three homes and has diverted tons of building material from the waste stream.

Habitat for Humanity-Spokane is an ecumenical nonprofit Christian ministry dedicated to bringing the community together to build decent, affordable homes for all God's people in need.
Description
Habitat homes are built simply and affordably through partnership with community volunteers and donations. All costs to build the homes are transferred to the family. Community support keeps building expenses low, thus reducing the cost to the family.
Habitat is not a give-away program. To qualify, eligible families invest 500 hours of their own labor (sweat equity) in building their homes as well as others. Once completed, the homes are sold to partner families at cost with a 0% mortgage held by Habitat-Spokane.
Habitat for Humanity instills the pride of ownership and fosters the development of positive relationships among neighbors and the community at large. With decent, affordable homeownership, Habitat families create a solid foundation for a brighter future for themselves.
