Assist with the care of a wide variety of animals by preparing diets, cleaning cages, preparing enrichment, building projects, grooming, fundraising, and/or training. This opportunity allows you to gain experience caring for many species of animals. Exotics volunteers care for fox, coatimundi, monkey, chinchillas, sugar gliders and prairie dogs. Farm Volunteers care for horses, miniature donkeys, sheep, cows, goats, pigs and chickens.

Mission Statement

To provide life-long sanctuary to wolves, wolf dogs, and exotic animals that have been neglected, abused, abandoned or relinquished by their previous owner. To assist humane societies, animal shelters and the Michigan Department of Agriculture with the placement of wolf dogs and exotic animals. To educate the public on proper care and humane treatment of all animal species.

Description

Howling Timbers is home to a wide variety of exotic animals including a monkey, coatimundi, fox, sugar gliders, prairie dogs, and chinchillas. Resident farm animals include horses, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, chickens, and miniature donkeys. The sanctuary is totally staffed by volunteers and supported by donations.
