Come volunteer with YEAH! (Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing), Berkeley's only shelter for transitional age youth (18-25). We assist young people who are currently homeless by providing basic relief from the stress of living on the street. We are also dedicated to co-creating a community of mutual support and respect.
We are looking for volunteers who can commit about 2 hours a week throughout our the rest of our 6 month shelter season (November-May). We are looking for volunteers who can work either in the evenings from 8:15-10:30pm, or in the mornings from 6:30-8:30am. These positions offer great opportunities to interact with the youth, get to know them, and build a truly amazing community. In these positions you would also help oversee the areas where the youth sleep, keep their belongings, shower, and hang out.
We also require every volunteer to go through a training before they begin working at YEAH! The training is only about 1.5 hr. Please respond to this post to find out when the next scheduled training is.
