The mission of Cincinnati Works is to partner with all willing and capable persons living in poverty to assist them in escaping poverty through the acquisition and retention of self-supporting jobs. Cincinnati Works is a non-profit organization supplying capable entry-level employees to the corporate community.
Description
Cincinnati Works is a poverty to self-sufficiency initiative started in 1996 by Dave and Liane Phillips. The program has 4 levels: 1) Job Readiness Training: includes structured training and one-on-one sessions until the member is employed. 2) Job search: includes group and individual sessions to assist members in finding a full-time job, paying $6-$9/hour with benefits, in their fields of interest. 3) Job Retention: includes intensive follow-up services to the member after job acquisition to promote the stability of the employment. 4) Advancement: includes services for those who have demonstrated stability in the workforce. Enables members to create a plan to pursue promotional, educational, and skills training opportunities.
