Many cancer patients have no transportation alternatives, and without a ride to appointments, some of them forgo the lifesaving treatments they need.
The American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery is a program in which volunteer drivers provide cancer patients transportation to and from their scheduled treatment appts. Drivers donate their time and the use of their personal vehicles to help ensure that cancer patients get the lifesaving treatments they need.
Volunteer Drivers:
-Must possess a good driving record and a serviceable vehicle
-May transport patients to/from schedules treatment appt. only
-Will contact the nearest medical facility or call 911 in the case of an emergency
- Provide rides to potentially life saving appointments!
