Book Buddies is looking for caring individuals to tutor second and third graders who are struggling with reading. Volunteer tutors donate one hour of their time once a week to read with children. During that hour, Book Buddies read with two children for 30 minutes each. You may choose the school and time that is most convenient for you. A Site Supervisor is at each school to assist and support the tutor. Lesson plans and materials are provided. All the Book Buddy needs to do is provide the TLC.
The second and third graders are very eager to begin reading with you. Our volunteers quickly see the difference they are making in a child's life and his/her literacy skills.
Please consider becoming an important role model to a child by becoming a Book Buddy today! One Hour a Week Can Change a Life Forever!
Requirments: Must enjoy working with children. Before tutoring, volunteers must complete a one-time training session and background check.
