This one needs a good cleaning.

The Museum depends on the dedication of our volunteer train crew to operate our antique trains and to educate our visitors. Learn to engineer, be a conductor or safety on our full size antique locomotive and our Park Train ride while interacting with our guests and providing a history of our trains and stories of days gone by.

This is the ultimate opportunity to play with trains! Come give us a hand.

In addition to the pride in yourself and the rewarding sense of knowing you have kept history alive for future generations.

Appreciation and acknowledgement of the talent, hours and energy that you volunteer;

Invitations to Museum events and special programs;

A chance to learn new skills . . . or use current ones.

Mission Statement

The Southeastern Railway Museum is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and operation of historically significant railway and transportation equipment, to the collection and display of transportation and railway publications and memorabilia, and to the dissemination of past and present transportation history. We are a 501 (c)3 not for profit corporation.

The Southeastern Railway Museum is the official State of Georgia Transportation History Museum. The museum has two primary exhibit buildings, including a large climate controlled exhibit hall for display of transportation history artifacts, a library, gift shop and audio visual room. We have a large shop for the preservation, and restoration of our collection. Our railroad collection includes over 80 railroad cars, automobiles, buses, and taxis. The museum operates a train ride on historic cabooses and an historic Park Train ride for visitors. The museum has space available for rent for private parties and meetings and other special events.

Please check our website for current operating hours.

The Southeastern Railway Museum is primarily staffed by volunteers. Our postings only show some our immediate needs for volunteers. We are always actively seeking additional volunteers to join us in many areas. We welcome any talents you may bring to share with us.
