Relate updated information to outpatient surgery patients' families from recovery and identify family members for staff. Also check in on patients and family members waiting to be seen to determine if they need anything; act as an ambassador and liaison between the nursing staff and the family members.
In the E.R., assist the staff with stocking supplies, turning over rooms and 'volunteer rounding' on the E.R. patients to make sure they don't need anything such as water, a warm blanket or just a personal visit. This portion of the position is to enhance the patient's experience and make sure they are receiving the best care possible.
Qualifications: Must be able to communicate with persons of different backgrounds and ages, perform clerical duties such as filing and record-keeping and understand computer information relating to patients in recovery.
