We are seeking volunteers who are willing to be trained in the field of disaster preparedness primarily for Seniors. Once trained, you will speak to groups of seniors (senior centers, senior clubs, etc) and educate them on how to prepare for a disaster.

This program is a collaboration between the Office of Aging and Red Cross.

This is a great opportunity to assist our most vulnerable population to save lives and property in a case of emergency.

***THESE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ARE FOR MONROE COUNTY, PA RESIDENTS ONLY OVER AGE 55 ***

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) OF MONROE COUNTY, PA provides opportunities for Senior residents 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
