Love Dogs? Animal Assisted Therapy Volunteers needed

Volunteers who own a dog that has completed certification from Pet Partners, Reading with Rover or Project Canine, are needed. Handlers and their dog will visit patients in EvergreenHealth in Kirkland. Patients are in rehab, or maternity or other patient floors and usually have a short visit with the dog.

Animal Assisted Therapy Volunteers are members of the EvergreenHealth Volunteer Program and volunteer under the supervision of the volunteer coordinator/s. The Evergreen Animal Assisted Therapy Program works with teams of registered animals, trained volunteers, and staff to offer gentle touch and compassionate care to EvergreenHealth patients and their families. Volunteer handlers have additional responsibilities of keeping personal cleanliness while visiting patients.

Dogs must be in compliance with certification protocols.
