Holiday Gift Drive for Kids!

The Holiday Gift Drive operates from November 1st through November 30th. This is what makes the shopping and wrapping for the ERfC Holiday Store for Kidsall possible. During this time, kids will be hard at work completing community service learning projects after school. Completion of community projects enables students to purchase gifts at the Holiday Store for their immediate family members.

The "Holiday Gift Drive" is an opportunity for volunteers to organize family, friends and co-workers to empty drawers of past gifts that have not been used or gently used. Thanksgiving weekend is a popular weekend to collect donations. Everyone enjoys re-gifting items! Gifts are needed for moms, dads, grandparents (never enough items for men!) and brothers and sisters (ages 0-18). We accept new and nearly new items. The average family size is six and we anticipate needing 1,500 gift items this year.

Holiday Elves Needed!

As gifts begin to arrive in our office (our conference room turns into Santa's workshop!) we need a number of elves to sort and sometimes clean or dust the donated gifts. This work begins the week of November 14th and keeps going until all the gifts are ready for shopping and wrapping. With over 1,500 gifts, we need elves! This work happens in our Administrative Office on Post Road. Schedules are flexible. Come in during lunch or right after work for an hour. I will be sure to forward a Sign-In form for Volunteer Elves.

Holiday Shopping & Wrapping with Kids!

This year, the kids will shop for gifts for their families beginning on Monday, December 5th through Friday, December 21st. Helping kids shop for gifts and teaching them how to wrap is a lot of fun. Shopping and wrapping time is from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. We can use from six to eight volunteers per day. Volunteers can choose the day(s) that works best in their schedules. Shopping and wrapping happen right in our School-Age Centers, all located in Enfield Public Schools.

The ERfC Holiday Store for Kidshas a volunteer opportunity for everyone!
