VITA Volunteers
Community members participate in training to certify as VITA volunteer tax assisters.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) offers free tax preparation assistance to low or moderate income individuals. The VITA program is made possible with the time and talent of people like you. As a VITA volunteer, you will make a difference by helping in the free preparation of tax returns. You will learn a valuable skill and help eligible families in the Upper Valley get the income tax credits they are entitled to, without having tax preparation fees cut into their refunds.

Complete training is provided to enable you to become a certified volunteer tax preparer. Orientation and training starts November 29, 2016 and continues through January 2017. Tax preparation begins Jan. 31 and ends April 11, 2017 once a week in Westminster, VT.
