Lauren’s House 4 Positive Change is committed to improving the education and well-being of our community’s children and youth. Lauren’s House works with at-risk, disadvantaged youth from San Mateo County through programs on Mentoring, Tutoring, Leadership development, Sports, Meals, Transportation, Enrichment outings, Counseling, and Community service opportunities.

The goal of Lauren’s House 4 Positive Change as an organization is to build positive, emotional and academic confidence of at-risk and/or underprivileged youths in San Mateo County.

The mission of Lauren's House 4 Positive Change is to provide a safe environment for at-risk children, youth and families from primarily in San Mateo County where they are exposed to new experiences that expand their minds.




Position: Math Tutor

Type: Volunteer Position

Time Commitment : 4-6 hrs/week


Position Description: Lauren’s House 4 Positive change is looking for a Volunteer Math Tutor, who will help the students with Math skills and develop a friendly mentoring relationship with students in order to foster positive learning environment. The Math tutor will run workshop for students who need to improve their math skills for a variety of reasons. As a volunteer Math teacher you will be serving students of 5-18 age group.

Lauren’s House mission is to provide holistic academic & emotional support to children, youth & their families primarily in East Palo Alto/East Menlo Park.

Description

Since 2009 we have been providing free after-school and summer programs to low-income and homeless children and youth (5-18 years), as well as services for their families.We focus on developing the entire person, with service learning opportunities, tutoring and mentoring, professional counseling, enrichment activities, healthy meals, and programs to strengthen the family.
