We recognize that a person is more than body, mind and emotion. Faith and spirituality can be a source of enormous strength during a time of serious illness. Reflection on ultimate things--such as God, meaning and mortality--is often vital to a feeling of well-being.
Our Pastoral Care Volunteers are sensitive to spiritual needs. Our Volunteers are specially trained to serve as spiritual advisers at times of stress. Our Volunteers do not impose their beliefs on others. but provide skilled pastoral care in the tradition they feel comfortable representing.
Pastoral Care Volunteers from all faith backgrounds are needed to offer services such as:
- Pastoral conversation
- Music or worship
- Guided meditation and relaxation
- Scripture reading
- Support to family
