The Adult Literacy Program at the Camarillo Public Library is looking for volunteer tutors to work with adults, both native born speakers and English language learners, to help them improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills. No prior teaching experience is necessary and tutors are given appropriate training and support. Tutors typically meet their learners for one or two hours per week virtually (Zoom, FaceTime, Messenger or over the phone) and/or in person at the Literacy Center. The schedule is very flexible; Tutors can meet with their learners at any time that is convenient for both. We ask that tutors make a minimum commitment of six months. This opportunity is open to anyone age 18 and up.
