Retired Teachers for English Conversation Groups

ORGANIZATION: Southwest Valley Literacy Assn

  • 98 people are interested

The Southwest Valley Literacy Program is inviting all experienced teachers, who are retired and who miss the enjoyment and enthusiasm of teaching in a small class environment, to join our volunteer Program. We offer classes in group conversation for adult non-English speakers. The classes are an hour and a half in length and the topics are based on subject matter for daily living.

If you are creative, flexible and anxious to help those who want to learn English, this is a great opportunity for you. The conversation classes are composed of groups of four to twelve adults. They are held on either Friday mornings (10:00 - 11:30 AM) or Monday evenings (5:00 - 6:30). This would be a very rewarding chance for you to give back to the community and to make a huge difference in people's lives.

If interested, please contact Patricia Darby, Class Coordinator, at the Southwest Valley Literacy Program. Her email is Patricia-darby@ymail.com. (Please note that it is "y"mail and NOT "g" mail.)
