Interested in helping a student succeed both socially and academically? A one hour a week commitment can make all the difference in a child’s life, as well as your own. National research shows that mentoring can help increase self-esteem, improve attendance, and prevent substance abuse.
Connecting Generations, Delaware’s only free statewide, mentor training program, trains mentors for over 90 schools in Delaware, as well as community and faith-based organizations. No matter what age student you’d prefer to mentor, or what environment you’d like to work in, you can find the right match through Connecting Generations. We provide the necessary training to prepare you (workshops are run in many locations statewide), as well as support throughout your time mentoring.
More information about becoming a Creative Mentor and the Creative Mentoring application can be found at our website.
Be sure to watch the Creative Mentoring video to hear from real mentors and mentees what they have gained from the experience.
