***Update since posting: We'll have 6 sites around Austin where you can volunteer! Check out more about this opportunity below.***
For 25 years, Foundation Communities has helped empower low-income families in greater Austin to build a better financial future. You can join our mission by volunteering with the Community Tax Centers program.
Each year, volunteers put about $35 million back into the pockets of low-income families in our community - refunds they use to buy food, pay outstanding bills, and save for their children's future. In 2017, the tax centers expect to see more than 20,000 families. To make this happen, we need 600 active volunteers!
As the first person a taxpayer encounters, the Client Liaison welcomes clients, screens for eligibility and preparedness, collects documents, and assembles the information necessary for the Tax Preparer to complete the tax return in an efficient manner. The Client Liaison plays a critical role in ensuring that clients have a quality experience.
No previous tax preparation experience is necessary. We'll provide all the training you need.
We ask volunteers to serve an average of 3 hours per week during the tax season, January 13 to April 18, 2017.
Get on board today to ensure you're ready to serve when tax season starts. Send an email to Jackie.Cuellar@foundcom.org for more information or find our application at http://foundcom.org/volunteer-with-community-tax-centers/.
