Each year, volunteers at the Community Tax Centers put about $35 million in tax refunds back into the pockets of low-income families in our community - refunds they use to buy food, pay outstanding bills, and save for their children's future. In 2019, we expect to see more than 20,000 families. To meet that huge need, we are seeking 600+ active volunteers.

Volunteer Tax Preparers work directly with clients to complete income tax returns using web-based software. No experience is required - we will teach you everything you need to know, and on-site staff support is always available.

New volunteers complete an 8-hour classroom training and an IRS certification test (don't worry - it's open-book and untimed!). From mid-January to mid-April, volunteers are asked to serve an average of 3 hours per week.

Whether you’re looking to build your skills and experience, make new friends, build your professional network, or to simply contribute your time to the community, this opportunity provides a substantial and meaningful way to volunteer. And if you’re a CPA or Enrolled Agent, you may be eligible for free continuing education credits with no pre-requisite requirements.

Sign up now to receive upcoming announcements about training in December and January!
