Four Communities Fire Department

The Four Communities Fire Department is an all volunteer, Fire Rescue, non-profit corporation, that provides prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery services to the residents and business in the areas of Sharpes, Cocoa, Frontenac, Canaveral Groves and Port St John on the Space Coast of Florida.

Our mission is primarily to provide Firefighting, Hazard Mitigation and Emergency Medical Response to the citizens of and visitors to our community. We also provide training to our volunteer firefighters, fire prevention and public education programs, and support safety outreach through youth programs.

Fire Protection Programs - Responded to approximately 220 Fire/Rescue calls, including structure fires, brush fires, emergency medical services calls. Supported public education events, and special event stand-bys. Replaced worn our and damaged personal protective equipment, and purchased firefighter supplies and training equipment. Conducted weekly training of all volunteer firefighters, funded required firefighter certification training. Insured, fueled, maintained and repaired vehicles, equipment and facilities essential to our primary mission. Supported our Chartered Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troop.

Fire Operations - Responded to approximately 220 Fire/Rescue calls, including structure fires, brush fires, emergency medical services calls. Replaced or upgraded worn out or damaged firefighting tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.

Training and Volunteer Recruitment/Retention - Conducted weekly volunteer firefighter training on basic and intermediate firefighting and EMS skills. Conducted a blended Firefighter-1 Volunteer academy for 6 of our volunteers. Provided FEMA funded SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response) member incentives.

Fire Station & Vehicle maintenance, fuel and insurance, including Fire Station occupancy and supplies, and telephone/IT expenses required to provide Fire Rescue Services. Performed ongoing Fire Station maintenance to ensure that our vehicles and equipment are protected, and that the volunteers have a safe and useful place to train and meet.

We have been serving our community since 1951 and are currently contracted by Brevard County Fire Rescue as first due responders in our north central Brevard County run area. We are also proud to support local youth programs, including the Boy Scouts of America.

We are always looking for new volunteers, and while experience is desired, no experience is necessary.

The Four Communities Fire department was established in 1951, and recieved a state charter to provide services to the communities of City Point, Sharpes, Williams Point, Frontenac, and Port St. John. The Four Communities Fire Department Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt corporation. FCFD exists primarily to support the operational fire department and the surrounding communities. The FCFD's role in the community goes beyond emergency response, fire prevention, and disaster recovery. We are dedicated to be a positive influence in our community by supporting civic, social, and moral betterment programs.

Description

The Four Communities Fire Department is contracted to the Brevard County Fire Rescue as a first run engine in the north cocoa area. FCFD is one of the last all volunteer stations in Brevard County, FL and is highly respected among the paid union stations in the county.
