Mission Statement
Walk San Francisco makes walking in San Francisco safe for every, so our community is healthier and more livable.
Description
Walk San Francisco (Walk SF) is San Francisco’s pedestrian advocacy group, making San Francisco a more livable, walkable city by reclaiming our streets as safe, shared public space for everyone to enjoy.
Walk SF fights to improve San Francisco’s walking environment through policy advocacy and programs that educate residents, city agencies, and elected officials regarding the need for more people-friendly streets.
Walk SF promotes walking as a safe and sustainable form of transportation that increases our city’s livability, enhances public life, and improves public and environmental health.
Walk SF offers monthly, guide-led walks throughout San Francisco that are open to the public. These walks are free as a benefit to our members. Walk SF also provides opportunities for members of the public to give feedback and provide comment on development and planning issues related to walking and to support campaigns for safe streets.
Various volunteer and intern positions are available.
Join us and make San Francisco streets safe and it more fun for you to walk at www.walksf.org.
