Help seniors dine with friends- Become a Lunch Host
6 people are interested
The Twin Pines Senior & Community Center has a Federally-funded Lunch Program that provides 3 nutritious and delicious meals a week to seniors who sometimes don't have the ability or the desire to cook for themselves, or simply want to get out of the house and meet people.
A Lunch Host/Hostess helps carry out this program by plating and serving the food and beverages (it's a fixed menu, so there's no need to take food orders!), and ensuring everybody gets an equal and fair opportunity to partake in the Lunch Program.
We are currently in need of 1 volunteer for Set-Up and Check-In on Thursdays, from 10:30 - 11:45am! This person would help preparing the coffee, and putting out table settings for the lunch program attendees for that day. All supplies will be provided.
Then, when the doors open at 11am, the volunteer would help check-in attendees to make sure they are signed up on the Lunch List and take in donations. This will be a great way to meet everyone that comes in on Thursdays.
Please drop by the Center or contact Andrea at email@example.com to talk a bit more about this opportunity. We're located inside Twin Pines Park, surrounded by plenty of beautiful trees and walkways. This is an active community, and most of our programs would not exist without our wonderful group of volunteers!
