*****This is for Group Project Only*****

Montgomery Parks LOVES trees (just look at our logo!), and we plant 100's of new young trees every year. But unfortunately, until they become substantially bigger, these new trees need your help!

When they are first planted, our trees have wire fencing put around them to protect them from deer and other animals harming their bark. We also try to put some mulch or at least clear up the weeds from around their bases, to let them get all of the nutrients and water they need to survive.

Groups like yours will help us help the new trees that have been "out there" for awhile, that need a check-in to make sure the cages are still strong and working, and the weeds are kept at bay. These projects typically run 2 to 3 hours.

Your Group's Leader will work with our Park Staff to pick from one of many of our reforestation sites that's convenient to your location.

Please contact Norma Kawecki at Norma.Kawecki@MontgomeryParks.org to discuss your potential project with her before filling out an application.

Dates are flexible, and we will work with your schedule (but weekdays are preferred). Supplies will be provided, but if you have a favorite pair of gloves, bring them! We also suggest that you bring your own water and snacks, dress to be out in a tall grass field with long sleeves and long pants, wear closed shoes and bug spray.
