Great Rivers National Public Lands Day, ( ) part of a nationwide public service day will be held on Saturday September 29th 2018 starting at on public lands at the Confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. The USACE Riverlands, Jones State Park, USFW Cora Island Refuge and Great Rivers Greenway ’s West Alton trail will be the sites of this effort to enhance our public lands. The service day will include trash cleanups, plantings, trail work and invasive species removal. You can support Great Rivers National Public Lands Day by calling (636-498-0772) or emailing your reservations to join a work party. All necessary equipment for the cleanup will be supplied. T-shirts and a free National Parks pass will be given to all volunteers. There will be a free lunch at 12:30pm. with live music, followed by opportunities to hike and paddle on your public lands at the Confluence. This event is supported by Greenway Network, Great Rivers Greenways, Audubon Society, USACE Riverlands, USFW Big Muddy Refuge, Friends of the Big Muddy and MoDNR Jones Confluence State Park.
