Chitactac-Adams Heritage County Park is a special place to discover the traditions of the native people who resided along the Uvas Creek for thousands of years. This site is a wealth of cultural artifacts including bedrock mortars and petroglyphs found throughout the grounds.

The Chitactac education program teaches 3rd-4th grade students about Native American cultural history and natural resources, exploring the plants, wildlife, and life of what was the Chitactac community village through interactive activity stations. Students will learn how the native people lived and respectfully managed the land and its importance to the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band's life today. Docents will facilitate activity stations in small student groups (with chaperone assistance).

The mission of the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department is to provide, protect and preserve regional parklands for the enjoyment, education and inspiration of this and future generations.

Since 1924, when Stevens Creek County Park was established, people have given their time and talents to help make Santa Clara County Parks special places to visit. In 2010, nearly 2000 volunteers donated over 40,000 hours of service to a variety of projects and programs.
