Our specific mission is to use education to create awareness and excitement and to prepare girls and young women to launch successful technology-related careers. We are an organization led by volunteers who share the STEM for Her mission . Volunteers are always needed & warmly welcomed! Opportunities include smaller one-time tasks to ongoing programs and events. All in-person volunteer meetings are typically held in the Washington DC Metro area and via conference calls. Join us in our mission to use education to create awareness, excitement, and opportunity among girls and young women to pursue successful technology-related careers.

Marketing/Events Manager - Holiday Giving Gala

STEM for Her is currently recruiting a volunteer Marketing Chair for the Annual Holiday Giving Gala and Silent Auction.

The 2017 Annual Holiday Giving Gala and Silent Auction is in a new location this year, and promises to be bigger than ever! We are searching for the individual who loves to put together a great campaign and see it through to the event execution. Working with a team of volunteers, the ideal person will have experience planning and promoting events. They will be a natural leader, who will lead the development of the gala messaging, and the development and execution of the communications campaign. They will liaise with the STEM for Her Board, as well as WIT, and work with the rest of the gala team to ensure a seamless execution. The date is set, the location is set, the silent auction team is moving! All we need now is a leader to come in and help pull it all together!

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years marketing experience, planning and executing all facets of a successful event and marketing campaign. They will be a self-starter, who can dive in and make traction, while engaging a team of volunteers, as well as the Board of Directors.

This is a great, targeted opportunity for the right person to gain valuable experience in marketing and events management, while working for a good cause.
