The Mentorship House

Sponsors Mentorship Program is an organization dedicated to helping individuals releasing from state and federal institutions reintegrate into society. We call upon community members to get involved in these men’s and women’s lives in an enriching mutually beneficial relationship. Each mentor/mentee match is unique and has at its center the purpose of helping the mentee develop pro-social, interpersonal, and communication skills. Many of our clients have never had a positive role model. Many have never had the experience and benefit of having someone in their lives who is not judgmental, who is living a positive life, and who willingly offers not just constructive criticism but positive reinforcement as well.

We need more mentors, and if you are an individual who believes in a human’s capacity for growth and change, and if you wish to try and be a part of that, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us for a tour of our facility. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Come be a mentor!

Mission Statement

Sponsors transforms lives and strengthens the community by providing life-changing opportunities for people with criminal histories. Sponsors offers a broad range of services--housing, employment, counseling, and mentoring--that people need to be successful.

Description

Through the process of mentorship, formerly incarcerated men and women will gain support in making positive life choices.

The Mentorship Program provides consistent and non-judgmental support and guidance for recently incarcerated adults.

We carefully match community volunteers with mentees who spend time doing activities such as going for coffee, taking a walk, volunteering with animals, going to the movies, working out, going to church, or attending recovery meetings. Each match
decides wheat they want to do together, and when to meet. The program supports the match with case management, a monthly mentorship support group; and fun planned group activities, as well as free tickets to shows and concerts.
