Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.
Volunteer Packer: Join our team of volunteers in Burien on Wednesday mornings, packing meal orders from around 10 am -11 am. As a packer, you will bag the meals delivered weekly to homebound seniors. When a delivery goes well - drivers leave with the right bags to deliver and clients receive the meals they ordered - and it’s you we can thank. Training for this position is provided. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in volunteering longer term.
Qualities sought in Meals on Wheels volunteers: Commitment
Qualifications: Good communication skills, reliable, good cheer, and a commitment to the well-being of homebound elders. This is an on-going volunteer commitment.
Requirements: Complete an application, consent to a background check, be able to lift 15lbs, be at least 18 years of age.

Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
