Sample Power Pack

The Power Pack Program (P3) was created to provide elementary school aged children with a food pack for the weekend. These packs include 2 breakfast items, 2 lunch items, 2 dinner items, 2 snacks, and 2 drinks. These packs allow the children to be certain they will not be hungry over the weekend. This program was very successful last year but we need your help to continue feeding the kids!

This opportunity is flexible and can be conducted whenever and wherever you choose! You can do a food drive or purchase the food, assemble the packs with family and friends, and then deliver the packs to Food for Others when you have completed them.

The following link will give you an idea of what a power pack looks like, along with a kit that shows how you, your family, friends, organization or business can help out!

Each pack weighs about 3lbs and contains 10 items in each pack, 2 each for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus 2 snacks and 2 drinks.

- 1,988 children served weekly during the 27 weeks school was open for the 2019/20 school year

- 53,677 Power Packs distributed during the 2019/20 school year

- Currently we’re serving 34 schools, with 1 on our wait list

- Our goal is to distribute 80,000 packs during the 2019/2020 school year

If you would like to sign up to help out in our warehouse with assembling packs, as well as any other warehouse tasks we may need assistance with on the day you come in, please sign up on our website at http://www.foodforothers.org/action/volunteer
