About

The Family Learning Institute provides free, individualized, one-on-one tutoring for low-income and academically struggling 2nd-5th graders in Washtenaw County. Our volunteer tutors work with the same student, on the same day, at the same time, once a week from September 2018 through the end of the school year (June 2019). Our 2018-19 program will begin in September and end in June, following the Ann Arbor Public School schedule. Locations will vary. Absolutely no tutoring or teaching experience is necessary -- all materials, training, and support are provided by FLI. So, if you have one hour between 4 and 6p any week day, Monday through Thursday, AND ESPECIALLY if you want to help a young student be a better reader, we would love to hear from you! Our programs are free for all of our students thanks to dedicated volunteers like you! We look forward to having you join our FLI community!
