With a record number of donations we need more volunteers!!
Get brand new school supplies to children escaping violent homes!
How does it work? We collect donations of new backpacks from the community. We stuff them with school supplies and pamphlets, affix a label with Texas Advocacy's Legal Line to the inside of each, and ship them to family crisis centers and shelters throughout the state. Each backpack will contain the supplies children in crisis need to start their first days at a new school.
How can you help? We need volunteers to: inventory and organize supplies, stuff the backpacks with school supplies and pamphlets and affix tags; to pack backpacks into boxes; and to move full boxes from one area of the office to another. This is a great opportunity for families and individuals who can only fit an hour of volunteering into their schedules.
Volunteer hours are Monday through Friday, 10am - 3pm . We are located in South Austin. Due to the sensitive nature of our work, we cannot publish our physical address.
If you wish to donate school supplies, go to www.texasadvocacyproject.org/backpacks-hope and scroll down for the list of drop off locations.

Mission Statement
Texas Advocacy Project provides FREE legal services statewide to victims of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Description
Texas Advocacy Project is a non profit law firm working directly with victims, shelters, law enforcement agencies, and courts across Texas to deliver effective legal services to Texans in need. Our services are free of charge and provide the type of long-term solutions which break the cycle of violence for thousands of Texans each year. We accept clients without regard to ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or county of residence. Further minimizing barriers to legal services, we have English and Spanish-speaking attorneys and utilize a language interpretation service available around the clock, allowing us to give legal advice in over 170 languages. The Project also employs a service for deaf callers.
