Job Title: Development and Communications Intern (Spring semester)

Interfaith Social Services’ Development and Communications Intern works directly with the Executive Director, the Development Associate and periodically with other program managers as needed. The main focus of this internship will be to coordinate the annual Feed the Hungry Gala fundraising event that takes place on December 8th. The intern must be able to work face-to-face with clients and volunteers while maintaining a sociable and open-minded attitude to all situations. Projects range from updating donor contact information and mailings, administrating social networking websites, conducting interviews, making cold calls to potential sponsors and donors as well as many other tasks all requiring a high level of organization and attention to detail. The intern must be organized, punctual, resourceful and able to adapt to different projects and requests. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and social media websites. Lastly, the intern must be open-minded, creative and receptive to the different projects and requests made by the organization all while maintaining respect for those who benefit from Interfaith Social Services’ programs.
Time commitment: approx. 10 hours a week (early Sept thru Dec 2017). Schedule can be flexible. Also must be available to work from 9am - 11:30pm on Friday, December 8th for our Gala event.
