Volunteers Needed For The Foundation For Lee County Public Schools, Inc:
To manage and organize the School Resource Center:
Books and other donations need to be sorted and placed on shelves, check in teachers who come to take donated items and monitor the items taken. (Please be strong! Some boxes can weigh up to 30 lbs.)
To call on local businesses:
Also needed are volunteers to contact businesses to request items such as fabric, paper, office supplies, wallpaer books and other items teachers can use.

Mission Statement
We are a non-profit charitable education foundation which enhances and enriches the quality of public education in Lee County for students and educators through programs, resources and experiences made possible through corporate, individual and educational partnerships.
Description
Since 1986 the mission of the Foundation has been to enhance the quality of public education in Lee County by increasing community involvement in, and support for, Lee County public schools.
The Foundation For Lee County Public Schools, Inc. sponsors programs such as:
Take Stock in Children: a mentoring program for at-risk children
The Academy of Teachers: a group of former Golden Apple recipients who meet regularly to share practices for excellence in teaching and to develop tools to support their peers
Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program: honoring excellence in teaching through votes from students, parents, teachers, administrators and the general public
Classroom Grants: a grant program that offers an opportunity for educators to purchase the tools necessary to create a unique learning experience for their classrooms
The Teacher Resource Center: a center that collects and stores new and reusable items donated by businesses and individuals to benefit our teachers, students and schools at no cost to them
