Group Service Opportunity - Provide Meals for Your Neighbors

Foundation Communities is an Austin nonprofit committed to providing long-term, affordable housing + supportive services to families and individuals. More than putting a roof over someone’s head, we aim to build strong, healthy communities.

Supper Clubs are an opportunity for groups to join us in building community by sharing meals with our single adult residents. We ask pre-existing groups of 8-15 people to commit to volunteering on a regular basis: monthly, every other month or quarterly. One time events can be scheduled on occasion. Group leaders participate in a site visit and orientation before their their first event.

All meals are prepared offsite by volunteer groups and we’re currently offering two distribution models, depending on the selected community:

• Volunteers can prepare individually packaged meals that they bring onsite to distribute directly to residents. Groups set up in the community space and residents come by to grab a meal and mingle. Community requests range from 40-85 meals.
• Groups can bring meals onsite to serve to residents buffet-style. Volunteers are encouraged to sit & eat with residents, allowing for an opportunity to get to know one another. Groups provide all items needed to prepare, serve and clean up after the meal, expecting to serve around 40 people.

• Spring Terrace, northeast Austin

Individually Packaged & Distributed Meals*

• Bluebonnet Studios, central Austin
• Capital Studios, downtown
• Waterloo Terrace, northwest Austin
• *Note - these properties will likely resume shared community meals in future months
