Every day of the week, there are members of Polk's age 60+ community who are struggling to find a ride to the doctor. Polk is such a large county, with many areas that lack access to mass transit, making it difficult for people who are not able to drive, to get where they are going. Many of these individuals may even live near you. Help give someone a ride on their way to the grocery store or as they pass by their doctor's office when making your routine errands. Our agency can reimburse drivers for their mileage. ElderPoint Ministries of Greater Lakeland coordinates rides for Polk's seniors throughout Polk County that are without transportation. You can decide how far and how often you can provide a ride. You may choose to provide only local trips or you may choose to assist veterans needing to get to appointments at the VA clinic in Tampa. Meet others and know that you are helping to make a difference in the lives of people in your community! You may drive your vehicle or inquire about available agency vans, cars to drive.
