Unlocking Futures, Inc. is a not-for-profit, volunteer driven organization committed to transforming the chaotic lives of young people through persistent and compassionate mentoring.
Our Step Up program is a six month goal focused mentoring/ coaching program for high school students. The goal of the program is to enhance self-confidence and self-esteem which then leads to positive change in the lives of students.
The linchpin of our Step Up programming is the involvement of volunteer mentors who work one on one with the youth. Mentors serve as partners to the students as they work on personal projects. The areas the student will work on covers the domain of education, family relationships and self. If you would like to make a difference in the lives of youth, we are the perfect match!

Unlocking Futures, formally known as Youth at Risk is a not-for-profit, volunteer driven organization committed to transforming the chaotic lives of young people through persistent and compassionate mentoring. Since 1985, Unlocking futures has helped HS students make college an option: we take them from failing grades to passing grades; and/or passing grades to top grades. We give them tools to win in life such as a Goal-directed focus and Shift at-risk behaviors to responsible behaviors
