Calvary Women’s Services offers housing, health, employment and education programs that empower homeless women in Washington, DC to change their lives. Founded in 1983, our programs carry out our mission to offer "a safe, caring place for tonight; support, hope and change for tomorrow." Meal volunteers provide all of the meals on the weekend allowing more of Calvary's resources to go directly to the women in the program.
Meal volunteers prepare a nutritious meal at home, bring it to Calvary's housing program, and serve it to the residents. Dinners are needed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. You will make a meal for 13, 25 or 32 residents, depending on which program you serve. After serving the meal, volunteers are welcome to sit down and enjoy the meal with the residents.
This is the perfect opportunity for families and small groups of up to 12 to serve in a needed capacity while getting to know some of the residents on site!
