Talking Book Service provides audio books to Idahoans that are not able to read traditional books due to a temporary or permanent disability. We need your help to inspect incoming audio books to ensure the title of the audio book matches the case, look for damaged books that need to be replaced or identify if there is a missing audio book. This ensures our Talking Book patrons always receive their books in good working order.
We need someone that can volunteer in the mornings (usually 9-11AM) on weekdays, one day a week . We have a fun, casual environment and great people to meet and work with! Idaho Commission for Libraries' volunteers get access to thousands of great audio books, can join in ongoing learning opportunities and participate in staff and volunteer festivities throughout the year.
Thank you for helping to deliver library services to those who cannot use a traditional library.

Mission Statement
The Idaho Commission assists libraries to build the capacity to better serve their communities.
Description
A few examples of how The Idaho Commission for Libraries helps build the capacity of Idaho Libraries are the following services:
Talking Book Service provides free audio and Braille books and magazines and the necessary playback equipment, for Idahoans of all ages who are unable to read standard print materials.
The Read to Me program supports early childhood literacy with a variety of projects such as "First Book", "Jumpstart Kindergarten", "Summer Reading", "Family Reading Week" and so much more.
Teen programs help inspire teens to go on to be life long readers and learners.
Lili (Libraries Linking Idaho) is a group of projects and services that bring networked library service to the residents of Idaho. Idahoans will be familiar with the LiLI Portal where users can search the statewide library catalog, read magazine and newspaper articles, and even find auto-repair help. In addition to those statewide services, LiLI fosters collaboration among libraries for interlibrary sharing, keeping up with technology trends, and developing cooperative services among libraries.
