The LAMP (Learning About Multimedia Project) will celebrate five years of bringing media and digital literacy to New York youth, parents and educators with a gala at the stunning Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO on Monday, September 24 from 7-10pm. The evening will feature comedy by Lizz Winstead (writer/co-creator, The Daily Show and Air America Radio; author, Lizz Free or Die) and the first-ever Amplifier Awards presented to media education pioneers Jean Kilbourne (Killing Us Softly) and Mark Crispin Miller (professor at NYU; media critic; author of numerous books). Live music will be performed by indie pop singer Erin Barra, who called "too good to be ignored."

The LAMP seeks volunteers to assist at its fifth anniversary party in a variety of tasks, including checking in guests, handing out gift bags, seating premium ticketholders, assisting event talent, setting up the space and assisting the caterers as needed. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old.
