Help Habitat Wake build more houses by volunteering as our ReStore Driver's Assistant! Our ReStore Driver's Assistants help Habitat Wake keep a steady stream of awesome furniture and building supplies in stock for our ReStores.
If you're looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity that can double as a strength-training workout, the Driver's Assistant role is for you!
The Driver’s Assistant volunteer needs to be able to lift 50 lbs, be over 18yrs of age, have a clean criminal record, and be available to work the full 8:15am - 4:30pm day on a Monday and/or Saturday.
Volunteers must wear boots or sneakers.
We need volunteers who are comfortable lifting large, heavy, and sometimes awkward donations through a variety of environments in order to assist our pick-up drivers with receiving material donations. The drivers typically work from 8:30am to 4pm and would require a volunteer to be able to spend the entire day with them in most circumstances. Please bring with a lunch with you!

The Triangle ReStores sell new and used donated items to the public at reasonable prices. The money they raise helps build affordable Habitat for Humanity homes in Durham, Johnston, Orange and Wake counties. These homes are built in partnership with volunteers and homeowner families.
