We need your strong muscles to help us move lots of heavy things before and after our amazing events - tables, racks worth of chairs, water coolers, A-boards, canopies, and more - down and up, and maybe up more stairs! Events are typically at the Greenwood Senior Center or Phinney Center locations in the Phinney-Greenwood neighborhood of (NW) Seattle.
Upcoming events include, but are not limited to:
- Summer Beer Taste
Saturday, July 12
learn more & sign up: https://www.phinneycenter.org/volunteer/summer-beer/ - Bite of PhinneyWood
Sunday, September 14 - Day of the Dead/Dia de los Muertos
Saturday, November 1 - Winter Beer Taste
Saturday, November 8 - Winter Festival
set up: Thursday/Friday, December 4/5
clean up: Sunday, December 7
No training needed, and you can absolutely bring a strong friend or two. Volunteering at most events will get you free admission to the event (note: some events are 21+, no exceptions), and helping to move stuff during the clean up shift will get you double credit for anyone needing service hours.
You can either sign up directly for a shift (if listed above), or fill out our volunteer application and indication you're interested in helping to "schlep/haul". We'll send you an email about once a month with upcoming muscle-needed opportunities.
Yep, you can skip the gym that day. We'll write you a note :)
