CELI's Competitive Advantatge Program (CAP) is a goal oriented adult mentor program designed to help youth (18-27) transition into adulthood/self-sufficiency. We work with transitioning foster youth, chronic umemployed, and others that need more hands on assistance.
A experienced and established adult mentor is utilized to direct young adults through the resources needed for stability now, as well as future self sufficiency, and help them resolve obstacles as they arise. The mentor will help them focus on strategies, avoid pitfalls and maximize their impact. Young adults will be coached as they practice making decisions for their own lives.
Our mentors must go through an extensive one day (8 hour) training program to ensure they understand program goals, can effectively communicate, are able to prepare an action plan, and understand the services available in the community for disadvataged youth.
If you have a passion for the underserved and want to impact a entire family by guiding a parent or young adult that may be a parent one day. This program is for you.

About Pivot Sacramento
Location:
4625 44th Street, Room 3, Sacramento, CA 95820, US
Mission Statement
Our mission is to increase achievement levels in low income, at-risk youth and adults by improving their economic status and encouraging contribution to the regional economy. We accomplish this by providing personal and career mentoring, GED preparation, and logistical supports that help launch individuals into a career and/or post-secondary education. Our vision is to provide the highest quality programs and leadership opportunities to strengthen self-advocacy, instill self-worth, and engender a lifelong value of learning. This way, we believe we can introduce productive and responsible members to society at large.
Description
The disconnected youth and adults we serve would otherwise spend much of their adult lives in poverty, unemployed or marginally employed. Our organization focuses on reducing the economic disparities and targets "disconnected" youth and adults by providing JOB PREPAREDNESS/READINESS, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING and JOB COACHING free for youth and adults that live in Sacramento and surrounding areas and are at/high risk, low income and are chronically unemployed and/or receiving public assistance to ensure they are successfully employed. Ultimate success is self-sufficiency.
