Rocky statue
The IISOH plans to acquire one of the three original ROCKY statues for its collection.

We are seeking Interns and Volunteers to help with public relations, marketing programs and research projects for our website's educational pages. Most work is done in the English language however we eagerly seek volunteers with other language skills for our research projects such as our worldwide sport portal entitled NOC DIRECTORY.

The IISOH is a non-profit educational, literary and research corporation under section 501(c)3 organized to operate a LIBRARY and MUSEUM for the History of Sport, Physical Education, Recreation, Dance, Sport in Art and the Olympic Games.

We were beginning a major fundraising campaign to develop an endowment when COVID 19 stopped our projects. We now seek to pick up, shake the dust off, leave the virus behind and move onward.

We are seeking $3.5 million Dollars in this drive - to pay for our first major acquisition, office space, employee salaries, operating funds and our website development. We have the rights to the iconic statue of ROCKY from the Sylvester Stallone movie (ROCKY statue #3 of 3 that were cast in bronze) that will stand in front of our museum.

To this end we have created several fundraising programs including the MILLION DONOR PROJECT where we are seeking one million donors who will become "Charter Members" for a once-in-a-lifetime" donation of $25.00. In return we will give the donor a lifetime acknowledgement on our web site and later within our Library/Museum building. In order to raise $25 million we need help - YOUR help. There are numerous other fundraising projects from naming opportunities for the buildings to endowments for individual sports and subject areas.

We have ongoing research projects for our educational programs and publications, some of which are now online at our websites. But many more are in the works. We need to advertise, market and do public relations to build our brand - first in Pennsylvania, then the whole world.

Briefly stated our mission is to build a comprehensive, multi-lingual sports library and a sports museum. The facility will be built on a large sport complex where all the sports facilities are part of the museum.

We plan several sports buildings, outdoor sports fields and playgrounds, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a stadium - not for baseball or football - but a replica of the ancient stadium of Olympia. There will be outdoor museum "rooms" that have statuary as the focus but can be used as a picnic area for families or groups. There will be a separate, large building as a restaurant and outdoor cafe (European style). See more details at our primary website - www.sportlibrary.org. We have a second website with secure connections for donations at www.iisoh.org.

Interns can earn up to 3 credits towards their degree through their university. We sign a contract with your school to teach you while you get practical experience working for a non-profit corporation. Meetings take place in State College, PA but students can also work via email, Skype and telephone for most projects after we get started. ALL universities in Pennsylvania are included in the internship program.

Some of the areas we want to fill are: Marketing, Advertising, Public relations, Graphic arts and design, Web page development and design, Maintaining our FACEBOOK and TWITTER accounts, architecture and landscape architecture designs for use in marketing, Fundraising, grant writing, collection development, research and video production.

We need to make 30, 60 and 90 second video spots, as well as a longer 5 minute, great video for YouTube. Do you have the skill to do this? We want you to create a memorable video that can go viral, bring us attention and possibly even donors, and bring you recognition and maybe fame.

You can make a difference - here is your chance. Our MILLION DONOR PROJECT needs your help to tell the world. See our web sites for many pages of information, our mission, our plans, our collections - this is a huge project. Our US headquarters are in State College, Pennsylvania and our European office is in Vienna, Austria.

Our project is unique within North America. Join us to make a difference. We need your interest, your passion and your time. If you have foreign language skills then we need your help for collection development, translation of marketing material, website translations and international communications. Volunteers need not be in Pennsylvania, nor in the USA, but we accept interest worldwide!

JOIN US as a VOLUNTEER or as an INTERN for university credits!!!
Help us develop the largest sports library and museum in North America.
