"Coach a Child, Change a Life!"

The One to One program trains community volunteers to produce measurable, positive results for first to third grade students who are struggling with reading or math. One to One Coaches practice with the same student for 35 minutes once a week in a simple format that emphasizes reading, writing, and building basic skills in number sense, numbers and operations.

Volunteer opportunities exist in 34 elementary schools throughout Northern Kentucky. Coaching sessions are coordinated based on the volunteer’s availability during the school day.

The Northern Kentucky Education Council is the backbone organization for alignment of education initiatives in Northern Kentucky.

Description

The Council is comprised of four Coalitions that focus on education goals set for the Northern Kentucky region. Each Coalition includes cross-sector representation from education, business and community organizations. The Education Council serves as a catalyst for collaboration, change, and progress toward regional education goals across seven counties.
