Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.
Packer and Back-up Driver: We are looking for a volunteer to pack meals every other week at the Redmond Senior Center (Wed., Thurs., or early Friday morning). We are also looking for a volunteer to deliver meals Friday mornings, every other week. Drivers are typically done with their route in 1 - 2 hours. This is an on-going volunteer commitment and mileage is reimbursable while making deliveries.
Qualifications: Good communication and people skills, reliable, flexible, attention to detail, good cheer, and a commitment to the well-being of homebound elders. This is an on-going volunteer commitment.
Requirements: Complete an application, consent to a background check, be able to lift 15lbs, be at least 18 years of age, and have a Washington state driver’s license.

Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.
Description
Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
