ORGANIZATION: Rape and Abuse Crisis Center

Advocates answer crisis calls evenings and weekends from their own home (some daytime, onsite opportunities are available as well.) Provide crisis and short-term emotional support to those calling. Refer clients to appropriate community resources. Agency can provide cell phone if needed. Training is provided.

Advocates are asked to make a one year commitment and a two shift a month commitment. Evening Advocates work from home and are not required to stay awake the entire shift, as long as they can wake up to and answer their phone right away. Some daytime, on-location shifts are also available for those interested.

Shifts:

During Business Hours: Varies
After Hours: 8am-5pm weekends and holidays and 5pm-8am Monday - Friday.

Our mission is to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and counseling services free of charge to all persons who have been victims of domestic violence or sexaul abuse, and to provide education and prevention programs to end personal violence in society.

Description

We assist those who have been affected by domestic violence and sexaul assault. We also provide education about these issues. All of our services are free and confidential.
