If you enjoy talking with people and want to learn about native Wisconsin wildlife, you should consider working in our office. You will be trained to handle calls from the public including orphan animal situations, sick or injured animals, and natural history questions. Help with administrative duties such as mailings and data entry. You will be trained to complete the necessary paperwork for admitting sick, orphaned, or injured wildlife to the Center. Volunteers escort visitors in our classroom space and share information about our educational animals. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and able to commit to one four to five hour shift weekly.
Wildlife In Need Center is a non-profit that provides free wildlife rehabilitation to over 3,000 native Wisconsin wildlife each year with the goal of releasing them back to the wild. We also present educational programs about wildlife utilizing non-releasable education animals. Our staff and volunteers answer approximately 10,000 phone calls a year regarding wildlife and wildlife situations.
