Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
Help in the Vitalant (Formerly BloodSource) Mather Headquarters Mail Room two hours once a week. Work with Volunteer Services staff and other volunteers to sort and distribute our incoming U.S. mail and interoffice mail. Help with miscellanous office projects. Friendly, courteous, dependable volunteers with great customer service skills are needed to help in the Mail Room. Sometimes deliver special mailings to post office (drive BloodSource vehicle).
This is an active volunteer opportunity. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. BloodSource Mather Mail Room. Minimum age 25 (Insurance for BloodSource Vehicle)
Training for this volunteer opportunity is any day Monday through Friday from either 10 am-12 pm or 2 pm-4 pm. Variety of days: morning or afternoon regular shifts available.

Keep in mind that volunteering in no way gives an edge for Vitalant employment and volunteers are not allowed to perform regulated tasks or receive hands-on donor clinical experience. We are not able to offer internships, mentoring or job shadowing. Vitalant does not accept volunteers for court ordered community service hours.
