Food Pantry Transportation Volunteer

Hunger and food insecurity is a major problem in our community. Unfortunately, for many hungry people, transportation is also a difficulty. In order to make sure that everyone who needs food assistance has the opportunity to receive it, the Belvidere/Boone County Food Pantry works to provide transportation on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuesday of each month to the pantry, but we can't make it happen without the incredible support of idividuals who are willing to offer their time and vehicle to provide this critical service to those in need.

Clients are picked up at three locations in Belvidere, including two senior housing complexes. They are then brought to the Food Pantry where they receive food and other critial household items to help them make it through the month. Afterword, our transport volunteers take clients back to their homes.

We're looking for reliable volunteers to join our volunteer team to make sure that the need in our community is met and that everyone who needs food in our community can receive it.
