We Honor Veterans 3-Star Partner
We are one of few We Honor Veteran qualified hospice agencies in our area that partner with the VA, National and Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Organizations to be equipped to serve Veterans and their families. The maximum Star Level is 4.

At Louisiana Hospice, we are always in need of people who are willing to give their time to provide our patients and staff with quality support. Our team is working to provide patients with excellent care, in hope of giving them a better quality of life. And our volunteers are a vital part of the hospice team! Volunteers assist us in providing our patients with meaningful relationships, along with valuable time and attention! Although a volunteer cannot provide medical care, the list of "cans" is plenty! When assisting a patient in home or facility, a volunteer can visit, read, assist with light housekeeping, cook, or maybe grocery shop, just to name a few! If direct patient interaction is not something a volunteer feels comfortable with, our office staff can also use volunteers to assist in filing, organizing, and special projects. The roles of a volunteer really are vast, and the rewards are abundant! Not only will you learn how to interact with patients and their families, but you will see true appreciation and get a glimpse of mercy. If you were ever looking for something meaningful to be a part of, do not pass this volunteer program by!

Currently, Louisiana Hospice volunteers are a great comfort and help to patients and caregivers by providing a listening ear at the home or nursing home, support caregivers who need to run errands, honoring Veteran patients during private pinning ceremonies, We would love to hear your ideas too! Any new activities we can add would be great; all skills and talents are welcomed!

A volunteer never has to worry about being uncomforatble either, they work directly with our volunteer coordinator. The orientation and training will answer any questions you may have, and help you feel secure as a volunteer. We look forward to working with YOU!
